>>35599721They've dumbed things down in the same way that TES has dumbed things down, which is to say streamlining things that are now becoming a hindrance to straightforward gameplay. It's part of a shift from playing behind the scenes and playing directly, from stat management to visual cues, that is now taking place because the technology exists to do so. It's not inherently a bad thing, only really when they go overboard, which pokemon isn't doing. It's a game for kids and modern kids are, understandably, more drawn to direct stimulation that doesn't involve a high chance for error.

>>35599883It's noticeably slow when you play it. Not enough to seem like a big deal, but there are lots of status-inflicting trainer mons and a 1v1 battle can easily last a minute or two longer than it should because of status animations, health depletion and slow message speed
