Overall I can't say I didn't enjoy it, the post-game finale even had me shred a few tears.
Well, it's Pokémon, if you enjoy travelling across the land and catching monsters and do stuff with them you always find something worth the bother along the way.
I was gifted the game, so maybe I'd be a little more salty about the price-quality gap if I had to pay it out of my own pocket.
I'd say, buy it if you're curious but if you can get it for less or for free it's better. Especially now that the DLCs have been announced, so you can buy that while saving some money on the base game.
