I can't see Serena swapping out Tripokalon for Contests...unless she decides to do both? Serena has to do some catching up anyways to get a chance of going to the finals, and match Ash's pace.
Perhaps Serena plans on unifying the titles? It would be formidable.
I suppose I'm also sad Ash won't be able to show off some creative dynamism. Tripokalons are just battles in a different form.
