Spikes and Toxic spikes I can tolerate since it's more on stacks and you anticipate and punish that fairly easy, and it doesn't screw over entire types with prejudice - if there are two stacks on the field it will hit you for 1/6th, unless you're flying or 'floating'. So if you make Stealth rock a spikes variant that ignores flying, then I'm all game, that's fine and fair.
