Just Pokemon stuff with different labels and less money.
Failing at filling their own corner, lacking new direction/style/innovation filled with asian myth styled Neopets or dated designs.
Coro/Crown cool but has dated playdoh designs of western creatures that wanna be retro inspired fantasy monsters and lack mass appeal.
TemTem has a lame world with too many monsters with disgusting head meat and a strong lack of self awareness to it's ugly "fake ass anime" style.
SMT hard alienates many due to it's style and themes.
DokeV pretty ass game with the strangest and plainest monsters for your pop star kid battles and it feels really out of genre to be a Pokemon upset hopeful.
Kindred Fates has the right idea but that money is clearly going down the drain due to it's lack of solid style direction with good artist as it's monsters are a mixed bag of generic/knockoff mon.
Digimon's abundance of literal human megas and constant oversteps at reinventing itself away from monster catching and exploration kept Greymon under Charizard's heel.
DQM's lost in the gamefaqs era and didn't reach enough hands, honestly could use a second wind as the Toriyama style is really strong yet the designs left something to be desired.

DQM/SMT/Digimon are nothing like Pokemon
Yet have tried and competently entered the genre's respectively gaining real fans without piggybacking off of Pokemon.
Yet every new monster catcher has the guise of let us be Pokemon when Pokemon no longer delivers on what I want anymore.
Slugterra does it for me more than TemTem.
