its all stupid speculation, but had sycamore not been so obsessive with his research, maybe he wouldn't have ignored the decline of his
boyfriend and said something.
so him constantly telling the player character to enjoy life and make meaningful connections is just him trying to prevent you from his own mistakes, not just lysandre's.
in a way he blames himself quietly for it all, so it makes you wonder how close they really were.
it makes you wonder what lysandre went through to make him so bitter.
