He was born with a dick for a face, his parents abandoned him in horror, and he had to learn to cope.
He's achieved great things despite his disadvantage, like the Teddy Roosevelt of pokemon.
He's learned to speak, for example, although he has a strong lisp that maketh him thpeak like thith, as he must use a urethra to talk.
He has also made gains, dresses well and amassed a lot of money (hence the luxury ball).
He's frustrated that the player has a loving mother and has had pokemon and a pokedex just handed to him, but most of all that he has natural battling talent that took little effort to achieve.
His constant failure to succeed in battle against the player frustrates him greatly, but he denies his deep seated bitterness and jealousy by claiming he does what he does because what the player is doing is wrong.
He does not come to terms with this until late in the game, where dickface comes to realise that you two are not so different aside from him having a dick for a face.
