It might be a unique encounter. You'd find it in the heart of some long-abandoned shrine, and it's very unwelcoming to intruders. It would definitely be Dark-type if it wasn't already Fire/Ghost.

That said it'd probably just be more feral looking like pic related, maybe with the ends of the tails ignited.
I'm not sure if I'd even be using the newest sprites, I might go for the retro aesthetic and decide to do this in GS Essentials whenever it gets updated or bite the bullet and learn how to mod Crystal directly.

I was going to go ahead and design a Vulpix for it either way. The name Vulpex is too good not to.
