>>29575873Played blue for the first time in July, I played gen 1 a little on emulators before but got bored and stopped playing. It just doesn't feel right when you're locked to a computer and you don't have the freedom to move around the house while you play. Playing it on the 3DS however was one of the best experiences I've had with a pokemon game and gave me new respect for the franchise. You're exactly right about not missing some of the newer features. Amie, berry farms and super training are neat to have but it feels good to play though a game where you don't have to worry about all that extra bullshit. Gen 1 only has the bare essentials and puts the entire focus on your team.
