I know you live in some fantasy world and/or skill level where team matchup is totally meaningless and pokemon is totally 100% about skill, but pokemon is really about math and you can't bullshit your way past math.
Thing is that Gamefreak doesn't give the slightest shit about singles, doubles inherently balances itself cause anything can ultimately be handled with smart use of protect, Fake Out, redirect, and double targeting so they're totally happy to just pump out whatever overpowered bullshit makes them happy. So now we have more than a few absurdly overpowered pokemon who can rip teams apart with zero to no support whatsoever... honestly, ask yourself, would a 6v6 singles meta be any fun if all games where decided by whose borderline un-wallable and un-revenge killable sweeper got on the field first?
