The neighbourhood I live in is all leasehold houses, so there's technically a bunch of clauses in our deeds we're supposed to be complying with (no trade vans parked outside, no satellite dishes, not allowed to paint the garden fences, etc.) but seeing as no one enforces them, literally no one is complying with them. Hell, even I'm not complying with them seeing as I painted the fence on my side of the garden pale cream. I can kinda see the advantage of it, especially if it keeps the area tidy and clean, but also at the same time, what a pain in the arse.
