God, man I just feel shitty about this. These games really meant a lot to me and it just feels like..Gamefreak literally doesn't give a shit. It's FRUSTRATING that they don't give a shit. And it's frustrated that they're validated in not giving a shit because anytime someone complains they're treated like a nitpicking neckbeard. Everyone seems complacent with a game franchise that isn't even trying to compete anymore. Like an old man who's best years are behind him. Look at the N-sane trilogy, Look at the reignited trilogy, look at FFVII remake, You can tell that the people working on them Loved what they were doing and wanted to take this old property and enhance it to the standards they could for the next generation.This just feels like Pokemon limping into the barn with whatever the fuck because they know, regardless of how hard they try they'll make bank and people will break their back defending them. It's so empty and so hallow it's fucking depressing. They don't want to push the Envelope, they don't even want to make it themselves. I feel insulted as a fan of this franchise by how little they actually care.
I don't want to be ok with this. I don't want others to be ok with this. I don't want Gamefreak and Pokemon company to be validated by literally choosing not to improve. They're being carried by the franchise's brand recognition and no longer feel any desire to innovate or try.
