the only way you can truly play it properly without losing all of your pokemon is to grind and grind and grind in low level grass so when you do progress a bit further you won't die forever by some random crit
It sounds fucking stupid to have to trudge through some long maze or cave or forest only to have to go back to the pokemon center after every. single. battle. because you can't use potions and shit.
