Finally some progress made in our run, with Venus thoroughly trounced! It's crazy that there are only two required battles between her and Dakim, which is why we spent a lot of time grinding, mostly in Mt Battle, but we also cleared the Phenac Colosseum for Giga Drain and Solarbeam as well as the Pre Gym for Return. Venus herself was thankfully a breeze after all our prepwork, My Uncle and Wonton taking out her Steelix and Delcatty respectively, My Uncle destroying her Vileplume next turn, but Wonton switching out for Hibiscus to avoid Banette's Shadow Ball which would've been a KO (speaking from prior experience). Then it was just a matter of using Bite against the Banette, chipping her Suicune down with Body Slam, paralyzing it along the way, before we started chucking Net Balls. I was concerned we weren't going to get it, it was basically on the verge of killing itself with Shadow Rush for a good 10 turns, but through sheer luck and baiting it to use Surf, we actually managed to catch it! That's 2 for 2 on legendary beasts, I'm not holding out hope for a perfect 3/3, it would certainly be sweet, but I am more than happy with getting two considering how bad my luck has been with them prior.
