It's probably because I had my expectations reasonably set by the Koharuchad in the previous thread, but I enjoyed the new episode alright. I'd imagine if I had gone in with two weeks of hype built up around it, I'd have been as disappointed as many who were watching it live. One thing I'm happy about is we got confirmation that yes, the Volteccers know that Dot is doing weird streamer shit in her room when no one's looking. Liko of course is being shoujo-dense about it, and Roy is too preoccupied finding his cool bird to care. Hopefully Roy continues to be based and nothing makes him lose his smile. I didn't notice any real animation glitches or fuck ups (I'm also a troglodyte, so that's not all that meaningful), but this episode did seem to have a lot of talking head syndrome. Guess you could call it a "bottle episode" or whatever if you wanted to be generous, but coming from a show as visually dynamic as SM to this was a bit jarring, I'll admit.
Speaking of SM, here's how I'd fix SM:
>Ash's plane from Kalos to Alola spirals into the Himalayas and is never seen again
>Everything else is the same
>Also, KAORI.'s spasmodic dysphonia is miraculously cured and she and her band go on to win international acclaim; I don't even care if May comes back, I just get sad thinking about it
