farfetch'd, Hawaii did have a ton of ducks that evolved and went extinct including a giant one. The remaining two are both endangered. One is being hybridized by mallards and the other got killed off in the main islands and there are only 600 or so left on two of the Northwest Islands. Just give it a Hawaiian plant like taro instead of a leak and boom, new alolan form or fossil mon.
