last update for tonight, for some reason i didn't put in the actual file last time.
definitely some interesting changes, the opposite gender player avatar, in my case kris, is now a rival, who has a level 5 shinx. shinx and ralts were available on the first two routes but i ended up with a pretty vanilla johto team, whatever. there are also route masters akin to clover - once you beat all other trainers on a route you can fight a sort of super trainer with better AI and moves, apparently. this one was pretty easy and just gave away the return tm, so that's nice.
also pretty based how i can see my IVs, which are mostly pretty good so far (gwen has S in both attack and speed) but i expect that will change
