Was in middle school during the Gen1 era. Went to the TGC tournaments Toys R Us would host where if you beat the gym leaders (Toys R Us employees) they would give you a real ass gym badge. I got up to the Thunder Badge and yes, kept them on the inside of my jacket when I went to these.
The day where I ripped the Mew/MissingNo instructions off the internet and shared them with my friend is an engrained memory that will last me till the end of days
