Gen 6 was a step down from Gen 5, and Gen 7 was an even bigger step down from Gen 6.
The only uptick we've gotten was Let's Go (fucking lol) and Legends.

No one has tried to defend Unova or shit on Alola so they haven't started the same bait image spam yet.

Nah Gen 6 was a step down from Gen 5, if even a little one. Besides, XY didn't have BW to compare to, it had BW2.
Meanwhile, it marked the downfall of the series because everything after got subsequently worse until Legends.

Legends is at least a good game to compensate. And it certainly looks better than SWSH.

Pokemon doesn't look bad in 3D at all, they just stopped trying after ORAS until Legends.
Besides, graphics don't matter as long as the gameplay is decent. It just so happens that when the graphics took a nosedive so did everything else.

Gen 6 didn't cut that much from Gen 5 but it was a downgrade. The real loss was how much Gen 7 removed despite being on the same hardware and being a shittier game.

You mean especially for Gen 7. The only exceptions to GameFreak are Platinum to BW2. Everything else is far below the fidelity it should be only after Gen 6 they don't even care to make the game itself good to compensate for the shit graphics.
