Baltoy's early name is Dogurobē, and its final name is Yajiron. The robē in the former and the yaji in the latter come from yajirobē (弥次郎兵衛), a balancing toy. That's also where the Dragon Ball character gets his name.
The dogu in the original name comes from these little clay dolls (土偶; dogū).
