>>16857705Things like these right? In all of his official art he uses textures. Almost everything has the varied lines pattern as a base, then he adds other things on top. Things like fluff have that spotted texture, scales, hard or metal surfaces, and leaves have the large spots texture, and rock often has a mix of both.

I think the highlight is toned down too much there, unfortunately. Also, on editing the other colors, they were all taken from official art to ensure accuracy (except in cases like the dark purple/blue, where it doesn't exist in official art and I have to make it) so I'm not sure why they'd need editing. But if it happens to look better then I'm all for it.
