Objectively, they shouldn't even had to be removed since they just have same models, and they pulled it off with gen 6.
Also Let's go is on the same system, so why are any of the gen 1 pokemon cut? It's illogical they are already right there.
The problem wasn't that they were removed, the problem is the reason why, they aren't in the not becuse of any technical issue, they aren't in because Gamefreak doesn't care to actually add all of them.
This probably a stunt and they will add them all in the 3rd version like having all of them is now a feature that game has to justify the 3rd version existents.
