>>35615729Finished Red after grinding for what seemed like an eternity. E4 levels are nothing to scoff at, and grinding in Gen 1 is a complete pain. Thankfully, my Blastoise, Splash, was a fucking locomotive of pain and blazed through pretty much everyone. Sadly lost 3 mons, but at least I didn't wipe.
Starting Blue and so far the biggest disappointment was finding a Caterpie in Route 2 and getting a Kakuna instead of a Pikachu for Viridian. I'll probably dump it once I have more Pokémon simply so I don't have to grind it til it learns an attack move. Here's to hoping for a Jigglypuff and/or a Clefairy in the following two routes.
Fun fact: between starting and getting the first badge, my Pokémon missed 34 tackles. Mie missed 15, Formentera 11 and Cat Food 8. Most of those were against Metapods.
