>>53612984>But design wise, Digimon look worse than Pokemon because there's literally zero consistency among digimon designs.>Their design philosophy is just whatever random shit that came to their minds with no rhyme or reason. Digimon could wear clothing and ripped jeans, or they could look like mechas with military missiles, or look like humans / anthro OCs, or look like horrifying eldritch monsters. The Greek Mythology has animals with cerberus, humanoids with clothes like Medusa and other weird things like Charybdis who is sometimes described has being a monster in the shape of a whirlpool. It also has Hecatoncheires, who are humans with 50 heads and 100 arms, sometimes represented with weapons. No doubt that, if guns existed at that time, they would have use them in their stories. Digimon has a lot of lore, with sometimes different versions of things, like some greek myths. So it's like a modern mythology with Yggdrasil, Homeostasis, Iliad, Homeros etc.
>At least Pokemon designs are consistent. The philosophy being to make them fictional animals you could find in the wildArmarouge and Ceruledge? Gholdengo? Also Digimon World is not the wild. It's a different world where every logic around atoms, molecule and cells does not exist. Stop trying to think that the logic of Pokemon should apply to Digimon. They're 2 different things.
>I can't think of a single pokemon that looks as creepy or overdesignedThat's what make Pokemon boring and redundant. As for the overdesigned part, you're just used to Nintendo designs. Watch Tales Of, Final Fantasy or most JRPG, monsters have the same level of details as Digimon if not higher.
