I have BOTH consoles. I had 3DSXL first and then bought regular one.
First 3DS looks like a joke. It seriously feels like a cheap plastic toy made by China that going to breake after a week or two. It is bad by all meanings. From buttons to screens and quality and design.
Xl has the quality. And "DPI" is really not a thing you should care about. I didn't even notice this so called...DPI lol. Don't even understand what are you talking about.
I use that 3DS for memory cards mostly. It didn't even connected to WIfI 'cause it don't have any reasons to be a real console. Only a whore that helps me getting more Gengars and Alakazams.
