Thing is, I played RSE, and when I was playing OR and leisurely strolling through that route fucking steven comes out, forces me into a cutscene that subsequently takes me to an island to do some mandatory pandering to some derpy dragon that looks lika a lugia abortion isntead of letting me go about my way and fight the trainers I was expecting to.

I did like soaring with the flute, even though I didn't like latios/latias. Still, no need to drag you away from what you're doing. GF is taking away player freedom ever since gen V and it's painfully obvious from looking at maps, cutscenes, the derpy friends and the removal of HMs.
You're not a kid freely roaming an interesting world and overcoming nature and others with your friends, you're a kid strapped to his seat in an amusement park ride.
