It is apparently obvious now that he WILL NEVER WIN. There is no longer any room for hope. If he didn't win after all that happened in Kalos, he simply won't win. It's over. Even if you guessed correctly he would lose, you never knew for sure. With Kalos the writers have finally shown their nature fully. No matter how they change things up, no matter what the animation quality or the story is, we now know 100%. They will never do it without a massive ratings drop or some such.
