>>42716684Dynamax is the only one that actually changes how the game plays and increases the depth of the game. Each game you have to consider when is the best time to Dynamax, and which Pokemon to Dynamax. You have to consider things like whether or not Dynamaxing is worth losing your choice item boost for 3 turns, or using your support/recovery moves for 3 turns. Should I Dynamax my typical Weakness Policy sweeper, or should I Dynamax my tankier Pokemon because it checks the opponent's team better and gives me a more likely wincon? If my opponent is evasion spamming, is it worth just using my Dynamax immediately on the Pokemon I have out now to ignore all his evasion boosts? Or should I risk saving it for a better situation? If my opponent is using a sleep move, is it worth using my Dynamax immediately to set up Misty or Electric terrain? Should I Max Lightning so I can boost my next electric move? Or should I Max Hail so I can break his sash?
Z-moves and especially Megas never have situations like this, it's just more "unga bunga slap item on thing" team building nonsense that doesn't improve the depth or strategy of the actual battle itself at all. This is why Smogon banned it, not because it's "overpowered," but because it creates so many extra options compared every other single shitty gimmick this franchise has introduced that they had to ban it because "I CAN'T PREEDICT" and their shitty 6v6 meta revolves around having games that last dozens of turns.
