I started a mono-normal run in Platinum and found a shiny Budew immediately on route 203 above Jubilife City, and I wanted to use it so bad that I decided to just do a normal run instead. I did cheat an egg move or two onto it so it would be more useful, but I still keep the .pkm file for it from before that.
The downside is that I want to keep a good team in each Pokemon game I have, rather than transfer them up into Pokemon Bank as usual, so this Roserade will never get to travel with me through the new games, but Platinum is still one of my favorite games and I'm working on the National Pokedex in it, so I've got plenty of time to spend with it.
