My fucking friend.
Allow me to rant about the one fucking moment that will always exist to crawl under my skin.
I like BW, but man, fucking man, BW contains the single most egregious example of godawful bullshit game design choices I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing.
On route 3, after you take care of team plasma, you part ways with your friends and finally you're allowed to continue your trek to the next gym. But no. You thought it'd be that easy? No. Literally seconds later, Cheren stops you. This is annoying in and of itself cause you just got done interacting with him, but that's not what bothers me, it's what he says. What does he say you ask? I'll tell you. He stops you to FUCKING EXPLAIN WHAT DARK GRASS DOES AND THEN LEAVES. Motherfucker. This represents an overall shift in game design philosophy from gamefreak that withers my spirits to nothing. Imagine you're the player, you see the grass, but it's different, it's darker, you've never seen that before. From here, you can just ignore it, but a curious player, someone who cares, goes into the grass and tests it out. Imagine how cool it would be to discover on your own for the first time that wild double battles exist in this game, the different battle music and higher levels maybe even making it a tense moment. It would've been great. But no. Gamefreak HATES the idea of the players discovering ANYTHING on their own nowadays. Instead, Cheren stops you and funnels the information that dark grass has wild doubles down your throat and then just leaves. For a player who doesn't care this is an annoying interruption and for a player who does care this just robs them of a potentially memorable discovery, one that's already telegraphed to the player perfectly, you can't miss it. Nothing, fucking NOTHING good comes of this. It's just gamefreak looking you, the player, in the eyes and saying "Fuck you, you're a retard" and then spitting on you and laughing.
