This is because none of the human characters in Pokemon matter. It's always best to focus on the Pokemon(which is why SM is the worst season). It's no coincidence the most important, popular, and strong character of all is Pikachu, and that Pikachu is a Pokemon. No sane person likes Ash more than Pikachu. And anyone who cares about these waifu wars is beyond insane.
