>>48586088>Challenger NeptuneNext few fights take place underwater, the worst field in this game. It is basically the "you win" button for water types, quartering the speed of all non waters and buffing a whole bunch of water moves/abilities/whatever.
Her team - Alolan Raichu, Samurott, Whiscash, Dhelmise, Cradily, Mega Blastoise (the Dhelmise and Raichu aren't affected by the speed drop thanks to their abilities). Araquanid leads with Wacan Berry to avoid getting Discharged and Lunges as she swaps to Samurott, then she swaps to Dhelmise on another Lunge, tries and fails to 1v1 me, I Sticky Web, then she swaps AGAIN to Blastoise. I swap to Heliolisk, whose Seed applies Soak to get around the speed drop. She sends in Dhelmise, take that with Dark Pulse. Out is Cradily, just get off a few hits before swapping back to Araquanid to kill. Now out is Samurott. I Lunge again but its Waterfall gets a crit to take my poor bug out, unfortunately I think I would have had to sack it anyway.
I swap in Lanturn who kills Samurott as Raichu comes back in, kill that too with a Hydro Pump. Now out is Blastoise. Unfortunately, I kind of needed another sack here - Water Pulse is boosted even on top of the field buffing water attacks and Blastoise's own Mega Launcher and STAB and kills anything on my team, plus Heliolisk is no longer water type from its Seed and would just get outsped and oneshot by Aura Sphere if I tried sending it in. This was tough, but I decided to sack Phione - it was a fantastic bulky mon, but there's just not much use for it going forward. It actually lives a uber Water Pulse and fires back with one of its own, but it's not enough. RIP.
Eelektross now comes in to kill, finally is Whiscash. I send in pre-poisoned Milotic who kills it.
>>48589247Maybe could've named it Hitchcock? Not a villain name, but still.
Good luck for the midgame.
>>48586729RIP, Togekiss is an excellent mon too.
Don't rush through the final push, the Kanto gyms can be deceptively nasty.
