But I wouldn't consider him the Antichrist, at most Ruby is vaguely atheistic (he doesn't trust "destiny", he can't handle the idea of his or Sapphire's mortality) and the manga narrative seems to bully him for it. Throughout the story he changes his behavior and even his views, but it's implied there's just something wrong in his soul, which might be related to faith or might not be. Either way his relationship to Sapphire is implied to be the best bandaid he's ever going to find for the void, his core problem is one neither of them will ever fix, they can only deal with it.
