/vp/ is a place where anything can dissolve into smogon bashing. You're saying "look at these things you call shitmons, they're great. bow down before my revelation" which is something that the anti-smogonjerk usually latches onto.
Centralization is not a bad thing and I wasn't saying it was. It's an aspect of any metagame that good players can exploit to surprise the opponent with something they've never fought before. Also, hundreds of people is a very small sample size. There are currently 10553 players on Showdown right this minute, and even split up between every single metagame (which is unrealistic because some are extremely popular while others aren't), that leaves siginificantly more than a couple hundred in every tier right now. And VGC tournaments happen somewhat rarely. I'm not blindly hating on it, it's a fact that the sample size is small.
