The alola games had all the Pokemon at the time but not the National Dex and are the furthest thing from "a Pokemon game" we had even seen to that point, and SWSH was even less so because it was the same shit with a different skin, thus why everyone was even mad at the dexcut to begin with because they were charging us triple the price for the privilege of them doing it.
If BDSP is a good game that sticks true to the series principles instead of being a boring visual novel like SM/USUM/SWSH, then it's can be considered a complete game. We haven't even had a game that was halfway decent since XY, and imagining that we could get something as good as BW2 at this point is a pipedream. Progress is progress and at least Legends seems to be doing something good with the opportunity that a dexcut provides.
