To people looking for good hacks my favorites have always come from Drayano. He's the creator of the Blaze Black Volt White series of hacks and I think all the hacks he's done has captured the spirit of Pokemon by still allowing you to use any Pokemon and increasing the difficulty to not be brain dead easy. To put it into perspective his hack on ORAS and HGSS
turned both into my favorite Pokemon experiences of all time. I can't recommend his stuff enough. You can find his patches on his Twitter:
