>>36393351>What are tiers likePic related is the last community voted tier list from early april: It's a bit out of date as a result (aegislash and blastoise brand new, and there was a major patch since) but it generally still reflects the consensus. Main change since then and now is aegislash is considered even better and blastoise worse. Weavile, machamp, suicuine, pikachu, and scizor also got major buffs but not so much so that they'd probably go up a whole tier (except maybe weavile but weavile doesn't have many players despite widely considered being very good). Worth noting that personally i'd put Shadow mewtwo in low high tier, though.
In general, the game is very balanced, probably the most balanced active fighting game right now: Most major tournaments have like 3-4 low or mid tier characters in their top 8's, the only truly "unviable" characters in high or top level play is Croagunk, Empoleon, and Blastoise, and even then you still see certain top players using croagunk and Empoleon (thankswalot used empoleon for one match of grand finals, for example).
> How alive is it in general? It's active but not extremely so. You get matches online decently fast, and it's at most FGC events and typically is near the middle of the pac0, maybe a bit below the middle k in terms of entrants numbers of them. It's nowhere near as popular as, say, smash, SFV, DBFZ, Tekken 7, etc, but it's as or more active then stuff like Blazblue or Guiltygear.
Discord.gg/pokken is pretty much where the entire english speaking scene hangs out and where shit is centered around
>And does anyone play similar to Hwoarang? I would assume Blaziken right?I don't play Tekken so I can't say, but Blaziken basically has enhancable versions of all his specials that do more damage and counter pierce at the cost of his own health. He's rushdown, using those to get in and then also in corner/block pressure to try to catch you using moves with counter frames.
