It doesn't create new sprites to make the game, its characters, and its Pokemon look more like the original art, it only has minor edits of a couple of the characters to dress more similarly, but it's still using all the gen 3 designs as a template and the gen 3 art style is in tact. The overworld edits are fine, but the bigger sprites aren't. It also put a hat on the female protag because "muh tradition established by games that came after RBY", so it doesn't care about accuracy.
