"It's unethical for us to capture these intelligent free thinking creatures into Pokeballs to have them fight for our class/status symbols under the guise of "Its because they like fighting and fwendship!" True Friendship is being equal with one another, you are not equal when one of you puts the other in a prison."
It could have been perfect if he just had Pokemon traveling with him not inside Pokeballs, just walking alongside him because they trust him and he treats them the way they wish to be treated, as an equal.
It even has a counter argument of saying if a Pokemon wants to be treated as a tool for battle then what's wrong with letting them?
