>HGSS should have had those graphics. Gen 4 as a whole is regarded well in hindsight but back in the day, there was a whole lot of vitriol that I imagine came from Diamond and Pearl specifically. People were cynical about remakes and third versions and thought most Pokemon games were just lazy cashgrabs. A lot of people who skipped BW1 got BW2 just because it took the place of an obligatory third version and they didn't want to get scammed.
