>>53260415Speaking of being thrilled at recently obtained cards, I may not have any cool modern stuff, or the want to buy modern, but I’d love to share a very special recent pickup! Funny story actually, I just got it recently after searching for months and months for the best price. I know it's a little creased, but I just like to call it "well loved!" Each scratch and crease has a story to tell -- I like to imagine it was played in a deck back in the day.
Metagross gold star is an expensive card in near mint condition, and it's still expensive even well loved like this one, so this still set me back a few hundred dollars. I guess I could have saved up a little bit longer to get a moderately played or LP, or even a psa6-7 version, but I couldn't wait any longer, I had to have this one!
With this, my collection is just as good as any other top collector. I have a gold star for goodness sake! It also puts me above those without gold stars. I feel so lucky and fortunate and privileged.
