I run Airstream on my Kartana largely to fuck over Venusaur after I dispel weather, given its bulky enough when maxed to take Steelspike relatively comfortably. Same for Dragapult (honestly dealing with Venu is my main reason, I fucking hate it), with the added bonus of warding of Knock Off Rillaboom variants and being able to hit Amoonguss hard and burn through its possible berry. I'll very rarely want to use a turn of my Dynamax SOLELY for the speed boost unless my partner is in a prime position to sweep or Kartana can score a knockout (or at least serious damage) with it, especially because if the opponent has speed control of their own (Tailwind, Icy Wind, Electro Web) and use it on the same turn or a turn after, I basically just wasted one of my turns of a very valuable resource. The speed boosts are definitely nice and those alone are the reason its universally considered the best Max Move bar none, but you just don't click a button and win with snowballing speed boosts, because shockingly, snowballing is hard in Doubles even with Dynamax when your opponent is prepared.
