Alola Farfetch'd uses the leek of the Taro plant as its weapon. Farfetch'd coats the root in clay in order to increase its functionality as a blunt weapon. Before the clay dries, it uses its claws to carve unique symbols onto the root. Farfetch'd's heavier weapon lacks the finesse of its overseas' cousin, but it makes up for it with the increased strength needed to carry around such a heavy weapon. Its newly developed claws make it a fiercer opponent.
Curiously, the people of Alola claim that Farfetch'd taste has become more chicken-like, perhaps due to its new diet.
