I had this interesting dream today about playing pokemon and aspects of it were different.
In my dream I was fighting another trainer and he activated his persona, it had a little cinematic much like a pokemon’s mega evolution except that the trainer looked more like a bad ass instead. (Think yugi turning into yami yugi.) In retaliation I activated mine too and had my pokemon use whirlwind on his pokemon so it switched out, having its buff negated. But it is hard to make sense of that part.
To elaborate, each trainer has a different “Persona.” That you pick at the start of the game so you have to commit to it. These buffs are supposed to be real game changers like mega evolution. An example of one would be lifesteal and more attack power. So you catch and build pokemon teams based off what persona you picked.
Since this was a dream; pieces of it don’t make sense. I don’t know how many different buffs there could be or how to balance them. I was thinking maybe certain buffs like fire, or water but then the trainer would be encouraged to commit to that pokemon type for the rest of the game. So it’s kind of like picking a class in that sense. I can’t remember if there was a cooldown or meter for when you could activate your persona.
What do you think of “trainer mega evolutions”/vp/?
