The majority of unique NPCs in Hisui didn't need to be ancestors of unique NPCs from previous games. To me, it comes across as nostalgiabaiting, uncreative, and immersion breaking. Any worse and I might start headcanoning PLA not actually taking place in Sinnoh's past, but rather as a movie that's a historical recreation of Hisui and most of those "ancestors" are just played by their present day counterparts.
