Gen 2 was design for you to play a little each day rather than get everything in one sitting. Crystal Legacy rebalancing the game so it plays more like Gen 1 and 3 onwards is cool.
The emerald and yellow hacks are unnecessary. If he wants to make an overhaul hack he should do one for FRLG that adds Johto to the already robust post game or something.
