Y'know, the kinda person where you'd think you're already on the 3rd or 4th date and think he's just taking it slow while he doesn't know that you're dating and you're just hanging out while he has a crush on you that he doesn't dare to admit. That wouldn't happen with me cause I'm pretty explicit with those things to avoid misunderstandings, but I could imagine that happening to him.
I'd guess a little camping trip would be a great date for him, or anything involving food.
