Gen 8 was actively bad in a way that none of the previous generations had been
I was someone utterly repulsed by dexit and if you asked me to make a list of problems about SwSh it wouldn't even be in the top 5 because the games had so many other problems that they'd still be the worst mainline games since DP even with the entire dex in place.
It didn't help that I ended up getting into TPDP and had more fun with it than any mainline Mon game in the last decade minimum
