It felt great to have a mainline entry where the evil team doesn't drag down the pacing with hordes of shitty grunt battles like they always do otherwise and exploring the overworld was fun. Presentation aside the only issue with the open world structure was the lack of scaling. I get that it must be a guant hassle to do for wild Pokemon and generic trainers but at least gyms and other bosses should've had it. Pretty sure Nemona scales so I don't see why they couldn't do it in other areas too.
