-Mega Evolution specials connects to an on-going mega evolution sub-plot in the main series. Right now, Sycamore has the Garchomptite and has met with Blaziken Mask, who has the Blazikenite, to help him in his research with Mega Evolution. The show is taking it slow but all of this is leading to the MegaBowl. So long as there isn't any ridiculous natural disasters to come our way, that important plot would be spared.
